CHANEL Pre-Fall 2014 in Dallas

I know I know, I've been out of the blogging world for past few months. And I know that I promised to update more often. But I'm getting very very busy with internship (as a ghetto interior designer), and by the time I get back it's too tired for me to dig up my head and review on fashion.

So long story short, I'm quite free these few days, and manage to do this post. Last Tuesday, Uncle All Mighty Karl held a show in Dallas, Texas. It is very very surprising, when I heard Chanel is going Texas! I was like, REALLY?! I know from that point on, this collection won't be the same. And right I am, The show was surprisingly vibrant, a different kind of energy in Chanel. It is still very Chanel, just not the usual Chanel.

There are so so many denim, embroidery by the house of Lesage, feathers, fringes, heavy knitwear, and lots and lots cowboy tribal-ish pattern, be it in the jacket, pants, skirts, coats, sweaters, scarves. Leather are so major in this collection, accessories are made from beautifully tanned brown leather, with classic Chanel chains. Fun clutches were also introduces, like the Gallon clutch (which I bet will be major hit like the all other Chanel clutches). There are still classic Chanel look, but with a twist of country girl look. Here's few looks I like from the women's..(those fur 'i dont know what sleeves I mean)

As for the menswear, I am dying, I repeat DYING for this leather jacket, in a shearling style but with tanned gold tweet collar, MAJOR! There are lots of military look, coats, with gold piping, ponchos, dramatically fluffy fur sleeves, desirable mink fur boots (NEED!), and quilted leather bags. The menswear is so handsome even for the kids. As for the shoes, I must say that I will always be a hater on square head toe, sorry uncle Karl. Here's a few looks from the menswear..

Once again Uncle Karl, you did it again, Bravahhh!

LFW: Burberry Spring/Summer 2014

After more than ten years for doing shows in Milan, Burberry is finally back in London for their menswear show. This season is quite a fresh start from Burberry, if you're expecting more prints and 'Loud' coats, you will definitely not find it in this collection.

Range of new colours are being introduce, including pale palette which I believe will be the next big thing in menswear next year. The skinny fitted suits are also being eliminated from the collection, its is replaced by cashmere blend and very fine cotton, structured voluminous jackets. Bailey really focuses on volume and tailoring in this collection, giving a fresh look of a Burberry man. Funky sunglasses, buttersoft leather goods are also introduced together with range of colourful suede shoes (next big thing alert again!).

I really like the schoolboy approach in this collection, it is just fresh and young and makes me lush over it even more. I've made up my wishlist already, and you should too!

The collection is available for pre-order on their website, while I myself can only sit here and enjoy it virtually HA!

What do you think about this collection?

Isabel Marant pour H&M

Earlier today, I received the news on the latest designer collaboration with beloved giant high street retailer H&M. Isabel Marant, coming this fall, November 14 to be exact, a range of collections including womens, mens, and teens will be released in selected stores worldwide. On a statement to H&M, Marant says "I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one’s own instincts: my take on fashion is all about personality."

It is expected from this collaboration that the collection will be very Parisian chic and urban cool. The men's collection from this designer will be made for the first time (yeayy!). I personally am looking forward to this collaboration, since I didn't really get anything from last year Margiela's collection. And I bet all the girls are curious whether the 'oh so famous' sneaker wedge will be made for this collection. Keep hoping and stay tune!

Wang The Great

Most of us are already so excited about what will Alexander Wang do next for the legendary fashion house Balenciaga. Well, at least I am. I think Wang is the current genius in fashion industry, mixing newest technology in fabrication, and creating a bold statement look. Since he took over the helm as creative director from Nicolas Ghesquiere, a lot of pros and cons are happening regarding his vision for this label. Wang is demanded to give a fresh new image combining the luxury and sophisticated philosophy of Balenciaga, mixing it with his urban sporty chic identity.

When today this ad campaigns images landed on the internet, it just says it all. Starring supermodel Kristen McMenamy, and shot by Steven Klein these images captures the look of a Balenciaga woman. Focuses on very structured, streamlined, elegant clothes and accessories , the campaigns gives the mysterious yet strong image to define the whole collection. I have no doubts that this collection will be one of the most sought after collection among the fashion's elites. Bravo Alexander Wang, you nailed it again!

And by the way, this is the first entry of this blog. Been wanted to create a fashion blog for a long time, but the courage just kicked in recently. Basically I just wanted a platform where I can spit out my thoughts on current fashion scene. This blog will cover both men's and women's fashion and style. I'm so greedy I want to cover the best from both worlds, so yeah, let's see how it goes. Cheers!
